Taking Vaporetto 2 from San Basilio Cruise Terminal venice to Santa Lucia

Our cruise ends at san Basilio, venice on Nov 1. We need to take Vaporetto 2 from the S. Basilio waterbus stop to Santa Lucia train station, The problem is that there is no ticket office at S. Basilio stop , so I have two options :
1) Buy the ticket online, which will probably save me some money as fares are reportedly going up from Sep 1, but I am getting contradictory feedback on how easy it i to convert the online ticket to a paper ticket at S. Basilio waterbus stop.
2) Look for a shop very near the ferry stop where I can buy a 1-day travel pass. Are there many such shops in the vicinity of S. Basilio?

Would much appreciate some advice. We are seniors who will be lugging 2 wheeled suitcases so our capacity to walk will be constrained.

If you are just making a single trip, get on and approach the sailor immediately. Pay cash, although they might take card.

There is a Tabac close by. With your back to the San Basilio vap stop, walk straight ahead up Calle del Vento, then diagonally across the Campo San Bessagio. Walk beside the canal for about 40 metres and you will see the “T” sign for the tabac. They sell vap tickets.

Thank you very much, Aussie, for the precise info on the Tabac location.

Jam, you are welcome. In Venice, a little local knowledge goes a long way. And as you pass through the campo on the way to the tabac, the bar tucked in the corner would offer a refreshing spritz.
A close friend has an apartment overlooking the campo, and writes novels set in Venice. If you sight a white cat on the balcony, her name is Mimi.

Mimi’s slave is Phil.
