Taking my parents to Sicily to see where their parents came from April/May 2020

I'm taking my parents to Sicily. They are 78 and 82. My mom wants to see Bagheria, where her parents came from. My dad is basically going to please my mom. They both are in good health and can walk without any assistance however my dad doesn't like to walk and needs to use the restroom more frequent now that he's older.

Can you give me some ideas on what to do with them while we are there that will not be too taxing on them?

I was thinking of cherry picking some day excursions like Cefalu, city tours of Palermo/Bagheria, cooking classes, Farmers markets??? We will be there for 5 days and most likely be staying on the West end. I believe Palermo will be our home base.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Palermo is a gd base, fairly level. However u will see that lots of streets are cobbled, uneven and damaged in many of other locations. Also elevators are rarely avail. Except for nice hotels. It is not an easy walk for seniors especially with many stairs. U are wise to plan this trip carefully. Parking can be difficult even with a small car. Perhaps u could consider day bus tours out of Palermo to ease the walking, restroom avail and convenience of a rest in between while on the bus.
Sicily I really enjoyed but navigating it with your requirements maybe be difficult imo.

Thank you JS for your input...you confirmed what I thought. I will carefully research when selecting a hotel to stay. I'm thinking organized day tours will be my best bet.
