Take Train from Florence and Rent Car in Tuscany

We were thinking about taking the train to somewhere in Tuscany and renting a car in Tuscany (rather than rent in Florence). Does any one have any advice on this issue?

Last September, we trained from Florence to Chiusi, and rented from Hertz. It was very convenient to Montepulciano (30-40 minutes). From there we also did Sienna and Cortona. The Hertz office is small and we got there during their afternoon break. So we were forced to grab a relaxing lunch in town, poor us (LOL).

Where are you staying in Tuscany? There are offices in all provincial capitals plus in Chiusi.
However renting in Florence would be the easiest.
If going to Chianti Road to Siena, the Hertz on 30 Via Ambrosoli it’s right at the start of the road and you are practically out of the city already.
