Is safe to sleep in a mix gender couchette on Italy night train? Please advice!

LoLa, I'm not a big fan of night trains, especially in a cramped Couchette. Which route are you intending to travel in a night train?

night train from Rome-Venice and Genova-Naples.

Since you can get from Venice to Rome in under four hours there is really no need for a night train. Without checking schedules, I would guess the same for your other night train. But to answer your question, it is safe.

in general it is safe but I am not a fan of the nights trains and your routes really aren't long enough to justify a night train
