Hi - I am flying on Meridiana leaving JFK and arriving at Napoli at 6:00AM. I need to arrange a flight from Napoli to Catania on another airline as meridiana does not service Napoli to Catania.
Question - If we land at 6:00AM, when should I plan on a flight from Napoli to Catania? Would 9:00AM suffice getting through immigration and getting my luggage, then checking into Easy Jet or Alitalia? Or should we go for 10:00AM?

What exact date are you flying?
Currently there are only 2 non stop flights departing from NAP to CTA:
Alitalia departing at 10:05 AM
Easyjet departing at 7:40 PM
If you fly in summer, there might be more options, including Volotea and maybe even Meridiana.

We land May 4th at Napoli at 6:00AM and will return the afternoon of the 8th. There are flights on Alitalia and Easy Jet, but how much time do I need to allow to get through immigration and get my luggage then get through security for my connection to Catania, assuming we land on time.
Do you think I would have enough time to schedule a 9:00AM connection to Catania or should I go for a later connection?

The passport control + luggage retrieval won't take more than one hour.
However there are no flights from NAP to CTA at 9:00am on May 4.
Your only choices are:
Alitalia
10:05 am
3:00 pm
Easyjet:
7:50 pm
Alitalia costs $57.40 Economy with only 1 carry-on (no checked baggage/no refunds/no changes/no seat selection). Or $167.40 Economy fully flexible (with luggage, seat selection, etc.).
Easyjet costs $43.24 Economy + $22.50 for each checked bag + $4.90 to select seat.

Volotea also flies NAP to CTA but not on Thursday, therefore no May 4 (which is a Thursday).
The Volotea flight is available on May 5 (Friday), and it departs at 3:15 pm. The price is slightly more than Easyjet.
