My husband and I are taking a vacation to Praiano, Italy the last 2 weeks in May. Are only major concern is whether or not it will be warm enough to sunbath and go swimming. It's not as important to us that the water temperature be really warm as long as the air temp is. I've seen some posts on this from 2008 and 2009 but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this area in late May more recently and could give us their opinion or thoughts. Thanks so much! Rachell
Thanks Linda!, We are going to be renting an apt/villa that has sun loungers. So it's good to know that we will very likely be able to make good use of them in late may. Thanks again! Rachell
No guarantees but the weather should be warming up nicely by then, definitely sunbathing weather. It is usually too warm for us so we visit the area earlier in the year but friends of ours visit regularly at that time. The sea will still be cool from the winter. Also be aware that very few hotels in the area heat their outside pools.
Nice and warm weather usually. However when you first enter in the water you'll feel the pinch from the cool water. But after a few seconds swimming you'll get used to it.
