Swimming on the Amalfi Coast

Will the ocean temperature be too cold for swimming the third week of May on the Amalfi Coast? Anyone done this? Don’t want to pack suit and shoes if too cold!

Most of the beaches in the area consist of pebbles, not sand, as you're most likely accustomed to in the USA. I would suggest bringing sand beach shoes for going into the water.
Have a great trip!

Thanks, everyone. 70 degrees F may be a little chilly for me. I think I will go with dipping my feet in the water!

Maybe comparatively chilly water to later in the summer, but not as chilly as the Pacific either. I was there at this exact time and got in the water every morning and evening (though I was fairly alone in doing so.) Maybe check the weather before you leave, but I’d give myself the option.

Unless there is an unusual early heatwave, the sea will be uncomfortably chilly.
If you get a heat wave and try, you can find descriptions online of where will be sunny when/versus shade from the cliffs.
