We are not going to check any luggage so we won't be able to take much sunscreen. Does anyone know what the Italian for sunscreen is and what the equivalent of SPF is?
Julie, There are a variety of brands, prominently displayed, and SPF numbers are the same. You can find it in la farmacia as well as in grocery stores such as DOC, Despar, etc. "Nivea" is a popular brand. Buon viaggio!
You can always bring sunscreen wipes from home. They don't count as a liquid. We brought sunscreen wipes and insect repellant wipes when we went to Italy.
AAAH! Laurel, you just reminded me that we forgot to stock up on our favorite Nivea sunscreen when we were in Germany in June. It's the best stuff ever.
Hi Julie, As others have mentioned, it is easy to get sunscreen in Italy. I got mine (La Roche Posay 50+ Antheelios LX) at an Italian pharmacy. The worker who helped me with it said that it is the kind that I can use on both my face and my body, which I was quite happy with! The writing on it is in French and English. It says that it is for sensitive skin as well. Happy travels!
Ruth
Thanks Laurel and Andrea.
