Sundays in Tuscany

We will be in Tuscany mid May, planning to do the RS Heart of Tuscany drive on the Sunday but worried that places will be closed. Thoughts?

Define places. Brand stores in cities and middle-size touristic towns (think at Siena as an example) will be open; small shops catering only to locals will be closed almost everywhere.

I mean that the village hardware store will be closed, but the shop selling the local specialties will be open.

Obviously museums, restaurants and most bars are open on Sundays. Otherwise they'd loose money.

Those villages live on tourism and all places catering to tourists will be open.
