We're looking forward to our upcoming Europe My Way tour and would like to visit Galleria Borghese on a Sunday. Are the Sunday museum closures of the early summer still occurring? Do you think we can make a Sunday reservation with confidence? Thankns in advance for the assistance
The Galleria is open Tues - Sunday (closing at 7;30 p.m.) You can make a Sunday reservation with confidence if you book well ahead,. There are several booking vendors (Viator, FlorenceArt) for actual vouchers in addition to making a reservation time directly.
The Sunday closures never happened. They were only a possibility.
Michael and Marie, thanks for your responses. I'll make a Sunday reservation and will look forward to visiting the Galleria Borghese.
We have found 0900 the best time to go. Less likely to be totally sold out. Be sure to arrive 30 minutes early. This is not only to be sure you get your tickets, but to have time to check your purse/daypack. The line can be long and they allow nothing inside.
David, slight correction to Laurel's post: you can take a few items into the galleries, such as wallet, meds, etc., but they must go into an opaque plastic bag (not as bad as it sounds). Purses, cameras, daybags, all must be checked.
Thank you for the hints, Laura and Zoe. We'll travel especially light that day. Ended up getting an 11 o'clock appointment as we were concerned about getting there on time for a 9 o'clock from our hotel near the Termini train station. Certain we'll enjoy the lovely museum.
