My husband and I will be in Tuscany on a Sunday in September and are wondering where we should plan to attend a Catholic mass. With all the wonderful hilltowns to consider, we are looking for a recommendation. Any wonderful experiences? A gem of church off the beaten path? Or go for the "main attractions" in Assisi or Siena? Please share!

Tuscany is a big place but if your in southern Tuscany consider Sant'Antimo http://www.antimo.it/pagine_en/00FRAME.html
About 10 kilometers south of Montalcino.
