Hi everyone, We will be traveling to Rome at the beginning of August and our first full day there will be a Sunday. I'm planning on doing a Piazza and Fountain tour to avoid any closures, but, I'm wondering where we can eat lunch. We will be doing Campo dei Fiori, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campidoglio Square, etc and we are open to picnicking or a light lunch i.e. Panini/Pizza. Does anyone know someplace that will be open on a Sunday in August?
Thanks so much!!
Just about everything is open on Sunday. Monday is the day that many of the tourist sites close especially if open on Sunday. As for a light lunch just pick one of the places. There are many.
Katie Parla has a great Blog about food in Rome with this link below specifically for eating on Sunday.

The vatican museums is the only place closed on Sundays and one of the few places open on Mondays. You won't have any problems finding restaurants other other places that are open for lunch. Just avoid places with multilingual menus. These are the touristy places and usually not that good. Donna
