Sunday Drive Florence to Montichiello- Vineyards, towns, scenic route suggestions?

Hello!

Would love some suggestions from you! We are picking up our car at the Florence airport around 9/10 am on a Sunday in July, and driving down to Montichiello to our agriturismo (aiming to get there around 6pm).

We would like to take the time to drive through Chianti region, stop in for some wine tastings, olive oil tastings, either a picnic lunch or maybe indulging in a real filling traditional Sunday lunch, wander through a nice little town square. etc. (don't worry we are VERY good about actually just "tasting" wine and being DDs-we did a whole day in Sonoma and my husband literally had one sip of the any wine that he tasted, and sometimes just had me try it first if he wasn't sure if he would want to try it).

Any suggestions on the most scenic routes? What about the best vineyards/farms to stop in? Maybe one of the small towns to stop in for lunch? I know a lot of people talked about Castello di Verrazzano (which if it's good, I'll go- I understand that many places have a "touristy" element, but I just don't want it to be like the Pindar vineyards over here on the island where it's overly commercial), but I also would love some quality small, family-owned local places regardless.

I know there are hundreds and I could technically stop by any (and we might just wander), but if anyone had a particularly outstanding experience either at a vineyard or a place with a really beautiful view or surprisingly great wine or olive oil, I would love your suggestions!

Also, are there any special considerations that I have to take into account because it's a Sunday?

(Ps-the rest of our days in Tuscany are going to be more in the Val d'Orcia and Southern area, which is why I want to have a little bit of a plan with where we visit as we drive through the Chianti region).

Thanks as always for your help- tomorrow marks one month until our trip!!! :)
