sunday bus service in Tuscany

Hi - I"ll be in florence from Friday, 2 November thru Tuesday 6 November and wanted to do an overnight trip to a hill town from Saturday until Sunday but think I read in RIck's book that some of the hill towns don't have bus and/or train service on Sundays - has anyone run into that? Any advise?

Roz - check out the SITA buses that run thru Tuscany. Just google SITA Italian bus lines and you'll find it. The website is in Italian as I recall but you can find your way to the schedule page easily enough. Have fun.

If you have a hill town and hotel picked out, ask about Sunday buses back to Florence or to a train station when you e-mail about room availability. Sunday buses can be sparse, so your first choice of hill town may not work. I asked when I booked a weekend room in Montepulciano, and was told I would be able to get a Sunday morning bus to Chiusi which has several train options.

Thanks for the info about Moltipulciano (SP??) - It is one of my top choices. I looked at the SITA site, but cannot figure it out since it's in Italian.

I will also email the B&B I'm staying at in Florence to ask about bus service on Sunday.
