What are the best things to do on a Sunday in Tuscany? Are most shops closed? We will be in Montelpuciano but want to visit Orvieto, Montelcino, and other small hill towns as Friday and Saturday are filled with Siena and Florence.

I've stayed in both Orvieto and Montalcino on a Sunday. Although a few places were closed, both towns were pretty much open for business. Orvieto had a Sunday flea market in Piazza Duomo when I was there this past May. Public transportation from/to Montepulciano is thin on Sundays, so hopefully you'll have a car.
