I am planning to travel from the ROME Fiumicino Airport to Perugia by bus. The friends I am meeting mentioned taking the
SULGA Bus from the airport terminal directly to Perugia.
Does anyone have experience with this bus service? Is it easy to find the bus terminal in the airport terminal?
Can tickets be purchased in advance on line?
Thanks for the advice.
It works really well. When you leave the terminal, go right, to where the other intercity buses chill. The Sulga bus will arrive right before its scheduled departure, so make sure you check the schedule online. To my knowledge, you can't buy tickets online. Have some euros (it's €22 one way) on hand, and the bus driver will collect the fare. A lot of the buses have free wifi and they're pretty comfortable. It will leave you off at the main Perugia bus station, which is right in the center. Most hotels are within walking distance or a short cab ride from there.
Schedule at http://www.sulga.eu/libreria/fiumicinoroma.pdf, departing from outside international arrivals at Terminal 3. It looks like you can buy online but also there on the spot, which may be easier.
