Does anyone know of a suitcase repair place in Sorrento, Italy? I'm right at the beginning of my trip and two wheels are broken, thus my bag cannot be wheeled. This is a major problem for me as I've had a double hip replacement. I leave on 2 October 2013, so I need this repaired asap.
Andrea, I agree with Michael on this one. I'd first ask your hotel staff if they know of any luggage repair shops that can provide quick service. I doubt there will be any, but it doesn't hurt to try. If that doesn't work, spring for a new wheelie bag. With your medical issues, I wouldn't try hauling a "boat anchor" around for the rest of your trip. Good luck!
That is a question that you will have a better chance of seeing answered by someone local rather than here. Have you tried to ask your hotel? Or if you see a store selling luggage or purses, they might know.
yes have googled for information, asked the locals and to no avail. I can find previous travel questions mentioning bag repair, but cannot find the string that mentions where...not looking good.
You may have to buy new luggage. Ask at the front desk for a luggage store. There appears to be one called "Il Melograno" at Corso Italia, 51.
Totally agree with Michael and Ken, I would buy a new suitcase and forget trying to find someone to repair your broken one. Too much precious vacation time and energy wasted (even already). And what if the repair isn't very good? Save yourself a lot of grief and just buy a new one now.
It is finished. Given the wide variety and set up wheels the probability of finding new wheels is very low. Good luck
And you will have a great souvenir from your trip to Italy.
You will find many shops selling suitcases to suit all pockets (right up to designer labels!). I like the ones sold in "Carpisa" on Corso Italia, cheaper ones can be found in the old town streets.
All sorted, got a trolley in Napoli.
Well, that makes tons of sense. Good for you! (And shame on the rest of us for not thinking of that!)
