I will be taking my family through Italy. We will be departing Rome near the end of our trip after visiting Bologna and Florence and will need to drive to Turin in two days to visit relatives. Any suggestions on what city to possibly stay for one night as we make the journey north??

Stay in Lucca. In the morning drive to Pisa, see the Tower and continue to Turin. I'm not a fan of Pisa, but since you are that close, you and the family might as well see the Tower.

Lucca and you can walk along it's renaissance walls circling the old town.
