Suggestions-touring olive oil or cheese factories

We'll be in Rome, Florence, and Venice during our trip in Feb/March. Are there any options to tour? Thanks

Hi Judy,

Will you have the chance to go at all outside these major cities? Most tours like the ones you are looking for take place in more rural areas. I took a fantastic tour of Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma this past summer in Parma (1 hour from FLorence). The company who gave the tour was called Parma Golosa and I would highly recommend them.YOU can see photos from the tour here http://tinyurl.com/yegbyho If I get back to Parma, Id do it again. Our guide's name was Laura, and she was fantastic.

Do some searches for cheese producers and some tours mays turn up. I suspect Olive Oil may be more difficult since pressing is seasonal. You may find though a producer or store that might do oil "tastings" and provide some background and information about oils.
