Suggestions please for guided Colosseum tour - Rome

I previously posted about Monday issues for Rome and we took the suggestions to heart and my family is going to go to the Colosseum that day. Hooray.

Now...last time we were in Rome, you couldn't go underground. My brother-in-law (who has never been to Rome) wants to go both up and down with some guided tour.

Suggestions please for an excellent guide/tour. Much appreciated and we'll get it booked asap.

We used through Eternity for a tour of the Forum and Colosseum https://www.througheternity.com/
Personally, we thought the Colosseum was more interesting from the outside than the inside, and the Forum was more interesting than the Colosseum.

Underground tickets are increasingly harder for tour companies to get. Even if you make a reservation for an Underground tour, you may be cancelled or the tour adjusted at the last moment. Some tour companies are no longer taking new reservations for the underground.

I reserved directly thru coopculture but I decided to split us up so my daughter and I both doing the underground tour at different times. The other tours just seem so hit and miss right now And since this was a priority it just felt like the best way to go about get the underground tour. Totally understand this doesn’t work for everyone but wanted to mention it. I did spend some time on the website the day the ticket were released to secure these tickets and went with the two different times when it became clear that getting two together wasn’t going to happen.

Thanks all. The Grand Grand: I think I'm going to do that - get them direct. Do you have any guidance on exactly when the tickets are released ahead? I'll mark my calendar and, if I need to, stay up!

I made an Underground tour reservation through the Roman Tour Guy months ago. It was just cancelled. We were scheduled for 7/4. They offered the Arena floor tour and a refund in the difference of price. Not the biggest deal. They said they had a problem with the vouchers.
So-- we will be doing a tour of the arena floor in 100 degrees. I think we're in for a memorable experience!!

From what I could tell ticket seem to be released from 3 am eastern time and onwards 30 days prior to tour dates. I got our ticket around 6 am. It was a lot of refreshing but eventually got the tickets. Good luck. Familiarize yourself with the website before your ticket purchase day.
