We are planning to concentrate our Tuscan visit this September in the Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino area and would like any suggestions for especially scenic, non-touristy wineries, that also have the opportunity for lunch. I am planning to be driving a car, so drinking the wine would be very limited...(we'll save that for the evenings!) Sightseeing and enjoying simple authentic foods is our daytime goal. Also of interest is olive groves, and olive oil production. Thanks in advance!
Have enjoyed tours, tastings, and prix fixe lunches at Fattoria dei Barbi in Montalcino and Avignonesi in Montepulciano.
Both are highly recommended.
By Montepulciano, vineyard and olive oil.
