Suggestions for Wine Tour out of Florence-also air bnb...

My husband and I will be visiting Florence in mid October for 4 days. We are thinking about renting an air bnb within walking distance to local sights-not sure what price is appropriate but if we could stay under $150 per day, would be nice. One day I thought it would be fun to book a wine tour and another part day a cooking class. I would appreciate any suggestions. We could rent a car and travel around if that is better than a tour. Thanks so much for your help.

hey texas girl
you can look at cross-pollinate.com under florence. read fine print, (cash euros on arrival, what floor and if lift/elevator, how many stairs to climb with luggage, city taxes, linens included, etc) you can always contact by phone or email them for more info. up your withdrawal amount with banks for ATM.
we have used getyourguide.com for some activities with no problem. research what you want and book it. maybe talk to owner/proprietor of place for suggestions. stop at a tourism information office around the town, may be near train station to look and see if something offered. eatinitaly.com has food and drink tours. walk around, people watch, stop for a glass of wine and appetizers, walk thru mercato centrale, eat pizza and gelato, you may want to take a day trip on train to panzano-in-chianti.com look for the famous butcher "dario cecchini" and his butcher shop (he may sing rockandroll to you) walk around the small town, have lunch and train back. enjoy the day.

We loved our tour with Tours by Roberto. He combines wineries with history and scenery. Great day!

Completely agree with Laurel. The Tours by Roberto was an enjoyable day. I took the tour from Siena, but most of the group was picked up in Florence. We visiting two fantastic Brunello wineries near Montalcino: Tornesi and NostraVista. Both are small family run, and the tour included a tour of the entire house and environs at NostaVita and lunch at Tornesi.

I second Tours by Roberto. I used them while it Florence. I did the Etuscuian tombs & wine tour. It was FANTASTIC!! Our tour guide was great & the winery & lunch were terrific! Great way to see the country side.

We just returned from Italy. We had a cooking class with Cook Eat Italian in Manuela’s home in Florence. It was a great experience. As far as a wine experience, we chose to take a regional bus from the city of Florence and had a wonderful tour of the winery, wine tasting of several wines and food at Castello da Vernazza. We only experienced one winery and for us it was fabulous. If you want to experience more than one winery, a group tour suggestion from the other posters may suit you better.
