Suggestions for tour groups for Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill

We would like to book a tour for the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill for English speaking tour guides only. We do not mind being with a group other than ourselves (to save a little money), but do not want it to be too large of a group. Any suggestions, or maybe we could do this on our own?

When are you going? Maybe my daughter and I can link up with you! We're looking for the same. Someone recommended City Tours from our hotel.

Another vote for Walks of ITALY. We used them in Rome last year for their VIP Colosseum tour and Pristine Sistine tour. We also used them in Florence last year and Pompeii this year. Their guides are top notch, the groups are limited to 12 or 14, and everyone has their own headsets to listen to their commentary. You can get a 10% discount using "ricksteves10" as a discount code.

Thank you! I was looking at their Pompeii and Amalfi coast one day tour from Rome as well as the Pristine Sistine! Appreciate the feedback.

We had previously book the Pristine Cistine tour, but just booked this tour today, but the code is 10ricksteves, and you have to prove that you have the RS book, which we did! Can't wait to see it!!

Which tour did you book, Lv2Trvl? and va from va, which Pompeii trip did you take? i know there are several and I was debating whether to travel on my own to Pompeii from Rome and then hook up with tour group or book one from Rome. I know there are several variations from Rome. This will be at the end of a very long trip - part as teaching at an English Camp in Czech and then at the end of 10 days in Italy so I know I will be tired at that point!

Dana, we booked the Premium Colosseum Tour with Roman Forum & Palatine Hill with Walks of Italy.

We also previously booked www.toursofpompeii.com since our friends had also done that, and said they were awesome!

We did both Walks of Italy and Dark Rome for our trip last year, both were very organized, nice small groups (I think one has a smaller cap on groups than the other) and we learned a lot because I usually get more out of a location with a guide than without one.......we did 4 tours during our trip, 2 in Rome, 1 in Florence, and 1 in Venice.....I think we did 2 with each company.....I would say with both though, if you have small ears, bring your own headphones, cuz those large ones HURT....
