Sorrento, Sorrento, Sorrento ......it ain't the only town in that part of the country!
Palazzo Caracciolo is in the Accor chain and pretty spiffy for about a hundred euros. It's a ten minute walk to the museum.
And don't believe the baloney about Naples being unsafe. We've wandered most all of it, day and night, and never been uncomfortable.

We will already be staying in Amalfi for four nights and then Sorrento for three nights. I thought one night to see the Museum and to be close to the airport would be helpful for our last full day in the area.

We are doing somwhat the same plan as yours, I have booked a room at Decumani Hotel de Charme (based on reviews on Trip Advisor)that may meet your needs. I think the price should be well within your range.
