We plan to fly into Pisa two days before our cruise departs from Livorno. Want to get to Livorno upon arrival (just in case there is a train strike)to be ready to embark. I'm not finicky - just wonder if there is a hotel, either by the port or in town, that someone might recommend.
The ship returns on a Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and the only car rental places I checked close at noon or 12:30 p.m. and then are closed on Sundays. Would like to pick up a car for about two weeks and return it to either Pisa or Malpensa airports. Is returning to Pisa Airport after the cruise the only way to pick up a car? I think there are extra fees for pick up at an airport. Thanks.
