Leaving from Florence at 6:30am so need to arrive there around 4-4:30am YIKES.
Suggestions for the best lodging options? Is there a hotel at the airport?

Reserve a taxi a day in advance at 4am (but 4.15am would be enough) by phoning 055-4242 or 055-4390 or 055-4798. At 4am all the city locations, but the most remote suburbs, are within a 15 minutes drive to the airport. Taxis with phone reservation are very reliable, you will be asked for your cell phone and if you do not meet within 3 minutes from your agreed time they will contact you. I have done it countless times.
