Have been invited to an Italian friend's wedding in Tuscany. Any suggestions on what might be a traditional wedding gift? Not quite sure what gift traditions are? Thank you.
I don't know what a traditional Italian gift would be, maybe you could google for that info, but if it were me, I would give a very nice, expensive, made in America, frame for a wedding photo as a gift.
Thank you so much. I did Google the question. Seems cash is a customary gift. Also contributing to the honeymoon is also traditional. If it's one thing young newlyweds appreciate, it is cash. But thank you for the gift suggestion. I was thinking along those lines, but was concerned what the extra weight would add to my carry-on.
This may not help any, but I just got married and my Italian cousin mailed me a kind note and a pair of nice earrings. So I don't think cash is required.
That's the nice thing about money - one size fits all and it doesn't weigh anything. Have a wonderful time at the wedding.
Thank you all for your kind responses.
I've been told that the Silver Spoon Cookbook is a traditional gift. There's an English version.
If the Silver Spoon cookbook is indeed a traditional wedding gift, it should at least be accompanied by a couple of silver spoons.
Maybe a nice small gift, and some cash? Plus, the good thing if you bring anything to Italy of weight, that's room to bring souvenirs back home.
