Suggestion for 2 week drive tour including Naples

My sister and I will be traveling with my father who can only walk short distances due to COPD. The goal is to visit Potenza and Anzi (family roots) but we’d like to visit other areas as well. Flying into Naples, possibly out of Bari. It’s an option anyway.

Any suggestions for scenic driving routes? Hoping that sticking to smaller, less touristed areas will help with getting Dad around, staying outside the limited drive zones and using taxis to get us closer to any sights.

Thank you.

What else did you want to see aside from those three places? Driving outside of Naples is not difficult, I would just pick up the car at the airport so as to not have to deal with city driving at all.

Thank you. Having visited Naples with my spouse in June, I’m not planning to drive in Naples at all. Picking up a car at the airport and heading out is most likely.

But wholly unfamiliar with the area near Potenza I’m wondering if there is a particularly SCENIC driving route (like the drives suggested in RS Tuscany book) in southern Italy. It would be easy for my father to enjoy.

You can select scenic route at https://www.viamichelin.com/. To the south, there is a large park, but it depends on your time frame, how many days are already allotted elsewhere. If heading to Bari, I’d definitely swing through the Matera area, which has some lovely scenery.
