Hello. I am travelling with a group of friends who have organised most of our 'cycling italy' holiday.
It's my job to organise the end of the trip in Cinque Terra and I was wanting some suggestions as to whether I need to pre book travel from Nizza Monferrato (near Asti) to Manarola (cinque Terre) and then onto Milano to complete the trip?
I have accomodation booked in Manarola.

Nizza Monferrato to Manarola is served mostly by regional trains that don't require or accept reservations. I don't know what the staff or ticket machine situation is at Nizza Monferrato but you could buy the tickets at another train station in Italy. When ready to use, you date-stamp each ticket in a validation box before boarding the train. If you buy regional tickets, then be sure to board that type of train, not an InterCity that can occasionally serve part of your route.
Your later route to Milan will usually include a leg by reserved train, so those tickets will include dates, times, and seat assignments when you buy them.
