We will be landing in Milan, with our final destination being Lake Como, where we will be for a week. Any suggestions for a nice itinerary? We're hoping for some must-sees. Would you suggest Cinque Terre, and should we take a rental car or
just rely on trains? We have four days to travel on our way to Como. Thanks so much.
What time of the year are you going? That makes a huge difference. Post that info here for the best responses. Happy travels.
kathy, I definitely concur with the previous reply - some additional information would be helpful. Which part of Lago di Como are you plan on staying in??? There are lots of choices, and that may have a bearing on Itinerary suggestions. Cheers!
Based on a PM from Kathy, I know that the OP is just about to leave for Italy. This is a last minute request from her. But the fact that she hasn't returned here may indicate that they've already left.
We haven't yet left, so I am open for suggestions.
Thanks.
There is not really much to see between Malpensa Airport and Lago di Como, they are actually close. As soon as the northern suburbs of Milano ends, you start getting the first glimpses of the lake. The itinerary depends on where exactly are you going to stay. If staying on the Eastern shore, drive via Lecco. If staying in the Western shore or the internal shore spreading from Bellagio, go via Como
