Suggested Italy Day Trips

My wife and I will be traveling in Italy in September with a group. The itinerary includes Amalfi, Rome, Orvieto, Siena, Florence and Venice. We were in both Rome and Florence some years ago and did what our group will be doing on one day in both Rome and Florence. Thus we are seeking potential other options for those two days. I would appreciate suggestions for potential day trips from Rome and Florence with comments on potential group/private guides. Thank You!

In 2014, we had a great time on the Chianti Wine Tour offered by Tuscan Trails in Florence. You will visit two historical wineries that also make delicious wine. The included lunch, with more wine, was one of the best meals of our trip. I would say that this trip provides a perfect combination of education and fun.

We did an all day "Best of Tuscany" day trip with tour company Walk about Florence and we loved it.

Rome: Ostia Antica, a long walk on the Via Appia Antica
Florence: Fiesole, Lucca, Pisa

Can't help with guides as we never use them but others may have some suggestions.

Frascati, Tivoli or Castelgandolfo would be good daytrips from Roma.
