Subiaco is 23 miles northwest of Alatri on S 155 and S 411. I'm not seeing train service to Subiaco. You may want to investigate bus schedules when you get to Rome or consider renting a car. Given your background, nearby Anagni's history will interest you (the birthplace of several Popes). Of course I understand the draw for you of Subiaco, given the founding of the 12 little monasteries by St Benedict and his twin sister Scolastica.
