We are planning to visit the Vatican and I'm in the process of ordering the tickets through the Vatican website. I noticed there is a student rate as long as a valid ID is shown. However they list an "international student" ID as one that's required. Does this differ from an ordinary school ID?
If you mean someone who is in college, you will need an international I.D. If you are talking grade school, junior high, they won't need an I.D. Most senior high school give out school I.D. so take that with you if you have them, if not take their passport if they look older than senior high.

Donna - My daughter has a college ID. Is that good enough? I'm confused about the international student ID.
Bob, You should be fine if she has a college I.D.
Here is what the vatican website says:
Students aged not more than 26 years on presentation of a valid International Student Card, a student identity document or other documentation stating their registration to a university or institution of higher education.
Here is the link for the entire page:

My understanding is that she can use her college I.D. if she has one or any form of college registration. You can buy the reduced tickets online but make sure to bring documentation with you in order to qualify for the discount or you'll have to buy her a full price ticket.

Thanks very much Donna. It looks like her student ID will be fine.
Another great International Student ID that I have is the ISE Card. Their website is www.isecard.com. Good Luck
Thanks all. I probably won't invest the $$ in the International ID if all I have to do is pay 15 euros for a regular adult ticket.
