strong recommendation on an agriturisimo to stay outside of sienna or montepulciano

I'm pretty sure my spelling is off on those italian words but I think you understand what I am looking for.
There will be 4 adults and we plan to stay in tuscany for 5 nights and want a place outside of the busy towns to be our base for day trips. We are looking for someplace special, with ambience, and beauty....any recommendations?? We would like to be in the Val d'orcia

Jay - literally just back from Spannochinno (sorry if that's spelled incorrectly) and can tell you a bit more. There are both B&B style rooms to stay in (didn't get to see those but I'm sure they aren't too far off from where we stayed) and then cottages to be rented, which is where we stayed. The location is lovely and quiet and has amazing views. There are artist's groups about as they spend a week or so at a time using the castle as a base. Located 10 minutes outside of Rosia its a quick 25 minute drive into Siena. You will have to drive or you'll be stuck on the farm the entire stay. Its basic and most certainly not posh but down to earth, great, great food (we went up to the castle for pizza night). The cottages are also very basic and you'll need to be prepared to head off to the supermarket to stock the kitchen if you don't plan on eating out for each meal. We had some lovely fires in our open hearth fireplace. They have a pool, nice people, miles and miles of hiking trails which my cousin's reported were really good. Hope that helps.

Oh, this place is about 3 hours from Rome via private transport or 2 regional train connections from Rome train station.

You can't really go too wrong.

"I melograni del Chianti", We stayed there 2 years ago for 2 weeks, and are going back for 10 days next month. Go to sight on trip advisor and read all the reviews... There is not one bad thing mentioned about Serena, (the owner) and it is in the most convenient location! I can't say enough about this place. Serena is like your own personal concierge, she can arrange tickets to museums, wine tours, cooking classes, even where to park in Florence! She is just outstanding and her property is AMAZING!
Don't take my word for it, check out her reviews... they will speak for themselves.
