Striking out finding recommended hotels/guest houses to stay in Florence- suggestions please

I’m searching for places to stay in Florence. Hotel Pendini is fully booked the days we will be there. Many other hotels are very expensive.

Any recommendations for a place that’s clean, friendly staff, in a good location? We prefer to spend less than 300 euros daily as we need two rooms because there will be three in our group.

I’ve booked places in other cities for this trip but, I’m not finding a place in Florence.

Thank you

Stayed at this RS recommended BnB in 2022. Large rooms and even a suite is you might be interested in some sharing of space.

Relais & Maison Grand Tour https://www.florencegrandtour.com/

Very reasonable and a good combination of near a place to catch buses plus walkable to the sites - Academia is about 2 blocks away.
The host is on site and will be as involved with your visit as you want her to be.

Good luck.

When? How long are you staying? Is it possible you're there during some kind of festival or holiday? Maybe try a monastery (I have no experience, but know they're often cheaper) https://www.monasterystays.com/

Laurie, I see by a previous post that you're coming in April. By any chance are will you be in Florence over Easter...which would add to elevated hotel rates? .Do you feel you need 2 rooms because you're 3 adults? If your 3rd is one of your offspring, have you explored family rooms? Is that 300 euros per room or total?

Can you give us your actual dates and if you really need 2 rooms or could get by with a family room?

Do a search in Booking.com, Trivago, or similar website, you will certainly find plenty of accommodations with decent reviews and ratings at any price. Just be aware that the average price of a hotel in Florence is about €200 to 250 a night. You don’t have to stick to what Rick Steves or this Travel Forum recommend. Clean your cookies and browsing history between searches.

Thank you for so much feedback! I love this travel forum!

We are looking at staying April 12-16th.

I feel we need two rooms as we are traveling with my brother. If it were an offspring we would squeeze in just fine.

My favorite hotel through my research is Hotel Spadai; but, two rooms makes it a bit too pricey!

@NickiB - the hotel you suggested looks great! Is it located in Rome? Or is there one in Florence as well?

A quick Booking.com search for your April dates (using 3 adults, 2 rooms) results in 690 properties (hotels but mostly apartments), a good chunk of them are in the vicinity of the hotel you mentioned. About 100 have "wonderful" or better ratings - ratings on Booking are only allowed from people who actually stay at a property, and in my experience are pretty accurate.

The monastery stay that I stay at is full, but at least one - Casa per Ferie Regina del Santa Rosario shows vacancy on monasterystays.com

My wife and I only stay in this type of accommodation in Italy. No religious requirement to stay in them. Makes a good conversation topic to tell your friends you stayed in a convent or monastery !

Looks like you're all set LaurieDi but just to avoid confusion, Loggiato dei Serviti, suggested by NickB, is located in Florence. The reference to Rome at the top of the webpage refers to a sister hotel in Rome. Someone needs to redesign their landing page. In any event Loggiato dei Serviti is a wonderful hotel in a great location which has, among other things, a turret room with a balcony overlooking the city.

We stayed at a nice Airbnb about 10 minutes walk from train station. I will try and find it and post info.
