Anyone know if there are any significant strikes planned in the next couple of weeks?

There were 3 strikes while we were there and we only knew of one before we left. We just arrived home Sunday.

They seemed to keep up with things very well. There was a train strike just before we left, which didn't affect us, and a local transport strike that stopped the vaporettos the day after our vaporetto pass ran out. We were very lucky!

As far as I know, which is not that far in Italian administrative law, the Italian government has established a regulatory body whose task is to act as a clearinghouse that collects, from the unions, nationwide and local strike information and then publishes for consumers a scheadule of those planned work outages. Yes, I realize that this is Italy so things are, to say the least, subject to a certain degree of uncertainty; but, nevertheless, here it is: http://www.commissionegaranziasciopero.it/
