Hi looking to travel from Tirano to Locarno by train on sept 20th around 9.00 - is this possible due to strikes? Thanks
We have to travel on 20 September from Venice to Rome airport because we fly back to Australia that night from Rome. Will the train from Venice to Rome be affected by the strikes?
@Lola, SBB’s Centovalli trainline has trains running in 2 hrs. (about half the time of Trenord) from Domodossola to the Locarno FART station, which is actually closer to Locarno.
Swiss trains-so the Italian strike shouldn’t affect it.
@choetzer, Italotreno trains and Trenitalia’s high-speed trains will not be impacted by the 9/20 strike.
I just saw people talking about this on Trip[advisor. An Italian there says “Local Transport” means buses, trams, and metro systems, not regional trains (like Trenord).
Follow on question: I bought a ticket from Florence Santa Novella main station to Arezzo on Sep 20 via TrenItalia’s website. We land on Sep 20. Is this local train subject to the strike? It’s. Second class ticket without reserved seat. I am confused about the strike and which trains are affected. Thx for your help!
