I tried looking at the ACTV website but either it switches to Italian or the page I look at doesn't say.
Could someone update me please - or point me in the right direction regarding if there is a strike this weekend and if so, how does it affect the vaporattos. Thanks!

Try the Venice Connected site. I just looked at it and it looks fine. You do have to buy 24 hours ahead (I think), but that's where I purchased my Vaporetto passes and it works great.

Last trip to Venice we experienced the strike. There was not a water taxi to be found but a guy appeared with a boat and took us to the Roma stop. From there we walked, with luggage, to our hotel crossing eight bridges. It was not pleasant but doable since our hotel was near the Zattere stop (La Calcina).
