how often are flights cancelled for strikes?
Cancelations due to planned strikes are usually announced at least a few days before the flights—airlines try hard not to get caught with their pants down. Seeing as you leave tomorrow, Id check the flight status online and figure it's mostly* safe.
*mostly only because there are a thousand things that can delay or cancel a flight, not just strikes. And all of them have minuscule probabilities.
What airline are you flying? If ITA, they apparently have not said anything yet.

ITA. Nothing says cancelled on our flights, app or online. Coming into Fiumicino on 4/22
That is what the article says—-so far ITA has not provided any information regarding cancellation of flights for the strike. So hopefully that means they are not canceling, but not necessarily. I hope it works out for you!
Last Sept when Lufthansa went on strike I received notice of cancellation the day of flight.
If your flight lands on the 22nd and the strike is for the 21st, in theory you should miss it.
The issue may be can the plane that will be your flight, get to LAX, or be stuck in Italy.
I would look at the status of the LAX inbound flight to see if you will have a plane to board.
I wonder if they give refunds for flights canceled for a strike?
Either refund or rebooking on another flight. But yours is still showing as scheduled and on time, so it appears you are OK—- you won’t reach Rome until tomorrow and the strike will be over.
FlightAware says your inbound plane left Rome on time at 9:42 am ( Italy time) and will arrive at LAX at 12:39, a bit early. Plenty of time for the turnaround for your departure.
I hope this sets your mind at rest.
Yes everything looks good on my end too. Thanks for the info though!!!
left LAX 7 minutes early, due into Rome in about 3 hours, expected 9 minutes late.
looking good
