Stresa to Ascona To Menaggio on Lake Como

Is it possible for four of us to get from Stresa to Ascona for several hours, and then to Menaggio on Lake Como in time for dinner (and the night) on a Sunday evening? Suggestions for transportation choices are appreciated.
