What is the best street map for Venice. In other words...easy to read. thank you.

The hotels usually have maps they will give you for free. We always used them and they were fine. Part of the fun is getting lost. And even with a map, prepare to get lost. In Rick's book, there are some small maps and those were fine to use too. No need to buy some big map,to fold up. Tight quarters in Venice on the walkways, so a small map will be better. Also they also have arrows up in lots of places to direct people to the big attractions like St. Marks and the Rialto brodge.
I like the Pocket Pilot maps. They fold up small but give good detail. You can get them at most book stores. Donna
I have both a Streetwise Venice and a MapEasy's Guidemap to Venice. I like them both very much and they hold up under heavy use. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
If you have a Mac use the Google Map Satellite views for Venice and do a screen capture. I did one each for the Jewish Ghetto, St. Marco, Santa Croce, Costello and Dorsoduro neighborhoods and printed each out. Pasted them in the small leather travel journal I carry. For some reason if you hit print when looking at the Satellite image it will not print out the image but a map, thus the screen capture option.
