Can anyone here personally recommend a tour guide/company? Hoping to do this when we visit in May.
On a related note, I’d biking in the streets of Rome a generally bad idea? We did it in New Orleans so I figure if we survived that with all the potholes and potentially drunk drivers we can handle Rome :)
I don't know of a tour company, but the cobblestones everywhere will kill you. Also, despite all the focus on crazy driving, pedestrians rule in the center, and they are not going to care about getting out of your way. Everyone I've ever seen biking in Rome looked unhappy.
I was struck (in the brief trip I was there) by the lack of people on bicycles. I wasn't looking, but it stood out (to me) that there were so few. And I don't ride a bike.
Thank you. I should have mentioned that the neighborhoods with the street art I’m interested in are Ostiense, Pigneto, San Lorenzo and Testaccio so not sure the streets there are less challenging than central Rome.
I suggest contacting this woman, Giulia. She lives in Rome. Her blog is loaded with ideas and information on street art . I’m going to Paris next month and will be joining her Paris walks.

On another note, my husband and I rented scooters and did a scooter tour in Rome. The car drivers know to be aware of bikes, scooter and pedestrians. Always be aware of course and assume.
I have done several bike tours in Rome and I am unaware of one focused on art. If you find one I would be interested to know! Biking in Rome on a tour I found helpful in avoiding busy crazy streets. I don’t recall seeing many biking on their own without a tour. I was surprised to see those green rental bikes parked throughout the city. Although I don’t recall seeing anyone actually on one.
