Storing suitcases

We are travelling to Italy and our trip includes a 12 day cruise. For those of you who have cruised you know that more 'luggage' is needed for formal nights, etc. To complicate this our daughter works on the ship and will be sending a couple of suitcases home with us. Our problem is that when our cruise finishes, we have 4 days in Rome. We don't want to drag those bags around Rome and to our hotel in central room before departing the Rome airport, so we're looking for a place near the airport (FCO) that we could store 4 suitcases. Our Rome hotel is very small. Your help is appreciated.

Place all the smaller ones inside the largest one and store it in the Termini station luggage storage, located on the lower level. Have a great visit with your DD.

Bob,, suitcases are unlikely to be EMPTY,,, LOL, what a man answer!!

So Debbie, you will be paying through the nose for bringing home that extra luggage,, LOL, your daughter is smart!
I think you should just bring the stuff to your hotel , otherwise it sounds like to much to do,, from cruise port to airport , from airport back to city,, . Just get a taxi from cruise port to hotel . Yes, it will be hassle with all that luggage,, but you should have said no and had daughter mail her stuff home.

Thanks you guys! I was surprized to have someone respond to my qustion so quickly! Further info: The cruise ship port is in Chivitavecchia, which is actually past the airport on route to Rome, so stopping at the airport after our cruise would be easy. I've sent an email to one of the airport hotels with hopes that they have such a baggag storage service - I'll let you know if I have any luck with that.

You might just ask your hotel to store your luggage for you. We've done this with bike cases (the size of luggage) and they've managed to find a storage area, or closet to keep our 2 extra suit cases that were really too big to keep in our room.

this was at no charge to us either - so instead of keeping your luggage at some separate location, you should ask your hotel to do this for you. Just make sure you have locks on your luggage, and you don't have any real valuables in there. Not that's it not safe, but just as common sense!
