Storing luggage at train stations

Is it still possible to store ones luggage for a few hours at a train station in Italy? We are hoping to do so in Pisa. Thanks

Some of the smaller train stations don't have luggage storage. I would think that pisa would have storage but I'm not sure. You could always check with trenitalia.

Here is how to find out if luggage storage (deposito bagagli) is offered at a train station on the Trenitalia network:

• Go to the Trenitalia website http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html

• Choose "In the Region"

• Choose the region that includes the city or town you're interested in

• Choose "Servizi in Stazione"

• Click on the first letter of the name of the town/city you're interested in

A table is displayed that shows the services provided at each station whose name begins with that letter. If the service is provided, a bullet is displayed in that column.
For example, for Verona, choose the region Veneto, then "Servizi in Stazione," then "V" to display stations

PS - I'm planning to do the same.

Lastly, does anyone know how much it costs?

As the other poster said Pisa has luggage storage. We used it when we were there in August. It was exactly where Rick states in his book. Although I believe it was more expensive something like 4 Euros a bag. No problems at all.

When we purchased our tickets to climb the Leaning Tower, they stored our luggage at that location. No charge. This was 2 years ago and we only had backpacks. Also we got off the train at the stop before the main station in Pisa. This was only a short walk to the Tower.
