Hello,
We are returning a rental car at about 10:00 a.m. at Palermo Airport Car Rental. Our departing flight does not leave till 5:30 (we would have to be back at airport by 3:30). What can we do with baggage for 5+ hours? We would like to go into Palermo but don't want to have to take our luggage. Any suggestions? Any ideas/help appreciated.

I do not believe there is a left luggage at the airport. There is storage at the train station. You could take the bus there and store them whilst you visit Palermo.

Do you really have 5+ hours? About an hour each way to/from the airport (counting waiting time for the shuttle bus), dropping off and picking up luggage, I would say you have about 3hours, max. Still a nice chunk of time for a walk or ho-ho ride around town.
What about lunch?
