I lost my small portable charger i.e. external battery for phone that can be charged up and then used when the phone runs out of charge. I bought it in FNAC in Paris What sort of store sells this sort of thing here? FNAC has media, cables, chargers, plugs, phone covers etc etc. What would I be looking for in florence?
Take T2 tram from the railway station, direction airport, to San Donato - Università stop; it will take 10 minutes; the stop is easy to spot as it is just descending from a long bridge. There is a medium-size shopping mall, on the back look for a Media World shop that is equivalent to French FNAC.
MediaWorld is the Italian branch of the large German chain, Media Markt, and will have everything you are looking for. Take a sturdy backpack because they will also have loads of stuff you didn't know you needed but can absolutely no longer live without. Good prices and excellent quality too. The bins near the checkout are a gold mine.
The one mentioned above is in Centro Commerciale San Donato, and is behind a Coop and H&M clothing.
Media World is sort of the Best Buy of Italy. Another chain, but smaller stores, is Euronics. Unfortunately there isn’t much in the historical center, only small shops, often for tourists. Florence city center has become like you are inside the Disneyland park, only expensive shops. There is also a small electronic store in the underpass under the train station. It’s called Open Games.
thanks. Headed for Mediaworld but then decided we didn't want to go that far out and so looked for a store near where we were to transfer buses and. found a small place that had several options. Cheaper on Amazon and maybe Mediaworld but managed to get a small convenient device that will work if I run out of electrons on the go and need to charge my phone for photos and such.
