stop for lunch

We are making a similar drive this year. While we haven't been yet, we've decided that Orvieto makes a good halfway point to stop. I've found several restaurants on TA that look like great lunch places.

Orvieto is a lovely town. We had a nice lunch at one of the outdoor spots next to the duomo. Just be aware that the old town is on top of the hill and unless you are lucky enough to snag one of the few parking spots on top, you may drive into a ZTL. You have to drive back down the hill, park in the funicular / train parking lot and take the funicular to the top, then either have a good hike, or bus ride to the main square. Then take the funicular back down. If you have a few hours, it's lovely, but for a relatively quick stop, you may look somewhere else. Others may have other suggestions for this.
