Where to Stop between Salzburg and Venice

I am planning a trip to Europe - we leave next week! Last minute we are thinking of changing our flight out of Munich and staying an extra week and fly out of Venice instead. Since I have a week to work with I am trying to find another city/town to stay in between Salzburg and Venice.

We could go through Innsbruck to Verona to Venice
or
Lake Bled to Venice

Thoughts? Or other suggestions?

(the first part of our trip is Easter Europe - Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Vienna, Budapest, Salzburg - we can't move anything else around. We would just plan on canceling our hotel in Munich and head South).

Innsbruck is a great place to stay, and the Austrian Alps are absolutely magnificent.

I attended a summer program at the University of Innsbruck, and am naturally drawn to the area.
The train ride down to Verona and over to Venice is very easy through the Brenner Pass.

You're going to find your itinerary cities to be absolutely fantastic--most of my favorite European cities.
