Hello, We plan to drive Stelvio Pass in September and are looking for some pointers. We will be coming from Verona and our final destination will be Lake Maggiore. So I would like to be efficient and drive Stelvio pass from north to south and get some suggestions on the best towns to stay and see along the way before we land in Lake Maggiore. Thank you.

I’d look into staying in the Val Venosta, just west of Meran/Merano. Beautiful valley, many medieval castles, plus the medieval walled town of Glurns/Glorenza.
