We are staying 1 night in Civitavecchia before boarding our cruise ship. Does anyone have a great recommendation for a place to stay close to the port, train station and the beach. Thank you, Ronnie
I understand your discomfort. But unless your ship actually departs before 2PM, a limo/car service from Rome may be a better use of your money than is a $120 chain hotel room. Just one opinion.
I would actually like an answer to this question as well. When I looked at hotels in the area, I didn't actually see any chain hotels. Just wondering if there might be a fun place to stay before boarding our cruise ship. Thank you!
If your ship doesn’t leave too early, another option closer than Rome is to stay the night in Tarquinia, about a 30 euro taxi ride from Civitavecchia. I don’t know of a hotel since we stayed in an apartment. But a nice breezy hill town with an Etruscan museum and a field full of underground Etruscan tombs with wonderfully painted walls and ceilings.
